HOLIDAY IN TRIVANDRUM IS A ONE-NIGHT ART EVENT WITH THE AIM TO RAISE FUNDS FOR THE SOUTH INDIA EXCURSION OF SUNITI DERNOVSEK AND DAVID STEIN. THE EVENT WILL CONSIST OF A SILENT AUCTION OF OVER THIRTY OF DAVID STEINS' OIL PAINTINGS AND INK DRAWINGS WITH RATHER AFFORDABLE STARTING BIDS. DJ BAD WIZARD WILL DAZZLE YOUR EARS AND ILLUMINATE THE DANCE FLOOR WHILE THE BEER OF NINKASI WILL FILL YOU WITH CONFIDENCE AND AMPLIFY YOUR VOICE.

Monarch is an exploration of the surrealist technique decalcomania juxtaposed with the Rorschach inkblot test. The results of the projected test of personality, based on what Mr. Stein saw in each blot, will be accurately rendered in oil paints and displayed next to the image of the initial blot card.

ill-starred is the latest creation by Portland dance/performance art company, Hot Little Hands. This new work explores loss, relationships, dreams, mourning and the reaction to and understanding of crisis. The dance is accompanied with minimal sound-tracking by musician, Ryan Bjorn Cross.

Over 100 artists have been invited to turn the yet-to-be-renovated rooms of Milepost 5's The Studios building into three floors of installations and exhibits. This 10-day festival will include live music by local bands, theater and performance art, artist round tables, and daily guided tours of the 100+ exhibits. The 51,000 square foot Studios building is phase 2 of Milepost 5; formerly the Baptist Manor Retirement Home, which was built in stages between 1928 and 1956.
