Lawn of the Limp is the latest creation from local dance company Hot Little Hands. Co-Artistic directors David Stein and Suniti Dernovsek invite you into a fantastical land, where other worldly characters dance to the gorgeous music of composer, Jay Clarke.

This story begins with two characters chasing a stray ball into forbidden territory when they come across a strange woman lying motionless on the ground. As she comes to life a bizarre relationship develops until its tragic end.

The movement explored is taut, expressive yet fluid with moments of tension and jointiness. Choreographer, Suniti Dernovsek has a fondness for detail, every position has been addressed and the result is visually stunning.

The performance is set within what was once a black box... now a kaleidoscopic explosion of colors consumes the theater with wall to wall murals that represent the bizarre landscape. Painted by David Stein.

Lawn of the Limp fuses dance, wearable art, paintings, installation and music to create a dark yet playful experience. Performed by Robyn Conroy, Ryan Cross, and Aurora Erlander-Miller costumes by Selene Gibbous, Wigs by Lana Guerra, Music by Jay Clarke.

Hot Little Hands creates timeless and hauntingly pleasant work with surreal narratives. They have produced two evening length dance productions “Avian Fable” 2007 and “Marionette” 2004. They have been presented by Conduit Dance, Ten Tiny Dances in TBA, Reed College, UW Milwaukee, Danspace in NYC and they received a residence at Caldera Arts.
